Thirteen yachts finally made it to Sainte Marine, Benodet. Saltwhistle III and Sparkling Spirit arrived on Sunday evening just as the rally `Welcome to Brittany Party' was in full swing. The evening started with a wine and Spanish tapas (to replace the La Coruna tapas) predrinks party hosted by the Rally and then moved on to the Hotel du Bac as reported in yesterday's update.
The singers (about 20 of them!) turned out to be terrific and sang sea shanties to the rally , who of course were eager to join in! It was a great evening and attracted quite a few passers-by to stop and listen to the `Chanson Anglaise'. It was also Dennis Dixon's (Navigo) birthday and from our accompanying photos may be seen that he threw himself into the occasion with a flourish!

A gentle start this morning with plenty of black coffee was the order of the day and following a rather complicated session with charts and tide tables it was decided to sail for the Iles de Glenan in the afternoon and then on to Houat on Tuesday. After having established that berthing would be available for the rally in Vannes the rally will move on into the Morbihan and Vannes on Wednesday. Makathea has managed to join Solway Mist and Miss Tippy in Biscay and is making for La Coruna.
