We bought the watermaker from new back in June 2003 and used in on our Atlantic circuit 2003-2004 including Rally Antiqua. In practice we only used it on the ocean passages and in the tropics so it’s done less than 50 hours from new. Its never been used in harbour or with contaminated water. When we returned the unit was flushed and  ‘pickled’ ie filled with preservative, and it hasn’t been used since. It is still installed in the yacht, and can be demonstrated to a prospective buyer. The boat is in Chichester, on the South coast. It really is as good as new.
