The fleet is now assembled in Galle, Sri Lanka after widely varying experiences of the crossing from Thailand - for some it was smooth sailing all the way, others encountered adverse winds approaching the island. Nonetheless, all are safely accounted for.

Important Note : Position reports are compiled from rally participants' radio reports and from automatic polling of suitably equipped yachts. Only certain legs of the Rallies are defined as 'reporting' legs, during which yachts must regularly report their locations. Other passages are defined as 'free cruising' legs, during which position reports are optional.

The publication of position reports is under the supervision of Rally Control, and can be affected by:
a) participants failure to establish a communications link at the scheduled time, or
b) security considerations for areas of the world where precise reporting of position and/or route would be of questionable benefit
