Nine Biscay Triangle Rally yachts departed La Coruna yesterday for La Trinite and have been enjoying lovely 15kts SW winds with plenty of dolphins and pilot whales. `Sahila' is intending to cruise Southwards from La Coruna and `Isis' is now cruising from Benodet where she retired from the rally.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their Spanish experience. It proved to be a busy stopover with a pontoon party to welcome arrivals followed by several evenings experiencing the medieval street market in the old quarter of La Coruna. The tapas evening at the Real Club Nautico together with a leg briefing for France and refuelling made Sunday a busy day and the excursion to the medieval cathedral city of Santiago de Compostella on Monday proved to be very popular and enjoyable.
Now everyone is back at sea and hoping to make the islands of Houat or Hoedic their French landfall where, if the weather proves to be favourable, the fleet will stop for a barbeque before entering La Trinite on Saturday morning. We'll see what the weather provides...
