A ceremony was held today in the Sultanate of Oman to celebrate the lives of the four crew who lost their lives on SV Quest last week. The American priest from the capital City officiated at the service and it was attended by the US Ambassador, senior officers from the coalition forces in the area, and all the participants of the Blue Water Rally.

 It was both a solemn and cheering occasion with prayers for the friends that the rally had lost but also anecdotes and recollections of good times that had been spent with Phyllis, Bob, Jean and Scott. The occasion was one where the rally crews, for the first time, were able to share together their feelings since they heard of Quest’s capture and then the dreadful outcome of the kidnapping. All those on Quest will be fondly remembered by many who shared yachts and ocean passages with them. May they rest in peace.
