The rally has been arriving in Cochin during this week. Two thirds are visiting India, the other third have made their way to the Maldives. The crossing from Galle was not as comfortable as expected, with 30 – 40 knot winds and very lumpy seas. The rally is finding that this is becoming a normal occurrence when they go to sea. The weather is certainly very unpredictable and different on this rally.

The crews are now sorting out any problems with their boats, enjoying the swimming pool and getting out and about in Cochin City for some shopping and sightseeing. It is Republic Day today so the Navy, Army, Police and other organisations started the day at 0715 musically, with massed bands. In response all the ships in harbour sounded their horns and firecrackers were let off. Quite a start to a day.
