Despite recent reports in the yachting press, all Blue Water Rally yachts are safe and well.  A little shaken, but not stirred.  A small depression crossing the Bay of Bengal delivered some surprise, unforecast days of very strong winds, right on the nose of some of our fleet.  They suffered a few days of being forced backwards some miles, and they suffered some great confusion about which way to turn to get out of trouble and later avoid further risk, but they have now had 36 hours of sunshine, gentle winds and moderating seas.

We are very sad to learn that friends of many in the BWR community, Keith and Susan Harding have lost their beloved vessel ‘Baccus’, which was on the first part of our 2007 rally.  Keith was aboard with 2 friends, and he injured his arm.  They were rescued by a passing merchantman and are going back to Malaysia.  We offer our commiserations, hope that Keith recovers quickly and that they are soon up and sailing again.
