Winds from the North East have now moved in and the fleet is sailing well. Most of the yachts are well on their way towards Latitude 20 Longitude 30 - known as position 20/30 (approx 300nm North West of the Cape Verde Islands) - a traditional turning place for altering course direct to Antigua.
By the progress now being made it appears that a large group will be reaching 20/30 within the next 3 days. The exception is Bionic who is really flying down the coast of Africa and already considerably further South than the rest of the fleet.
From today's position reports it is clear that Bionic is having the best winds (up to 18 kts) and really flying! Having exchanged e-mails with Jaime it appears that he may choose to alter course soon to pass West of the Cape Verde Islands but who knows if those winds hold he may choose to go deep South and get on the West-going `conveyer belt' early, watch this space...
