All but three yachts are now at sea heading for Antigua. Jackamy, Mercury Rising and Chsalonina are due to depart from Puerto Calero today. Yesterday's departures (Bali Blue,Blue Magic, Gaultine III, Miss Tippy, Motu Iti, Natibou, Roundabout and Sinan) slipped their lines from Puerto Calero Marina amidst a very noisy send off from the shore party yesterday morning at 1000am.
The positions of the fleet are already well spread out and this morning's `position report' showed yachts spread out over nearly 300 miles with one group appearing to favour the African coast and the other heading more South Westerly. Very light winds have beset everyone since the early departures left on Thursday but we are assured by our weather consultants that North Easterly trades will fill in late on Monday and develop nicely through Tuesday to provide good winds for the rest of the week ahead. Lets hope so!
Sue on Camomile has reported the results of the first rally quiz in which Lucy Alice (Ian and Glenda) were the resounding champions scoring 9.5 out of 10 (well done to them!)
