Note : Position reports are compiled from rally participants' radio reports and from automatic polling of suitably equipped yachts. Only certain legs of the Rallies are defined as 'reporting' legs, during which yachts must regularly report their locations. Other passages are defined as 'free cruising' legs, during which position reports are optional.

Although position reports are submitted more often to Rally Control, they are posted to this web site no more frequently than twice a week (normally Tuesdays and Fridays) and can be affected by:
a) participants failure to report their positions, or
b) security considerations for areas of the world where precise reporting of position and/or route would be of questionable benefit.
